Small-group GCSE Maths
Online | Exam-focused
Friendly, relaxed sessions with our head tutor Hannah who has 18 years of GCSE Maths tuition experience. Maximum 6 students per group.

Who are our groups for?
Students who lose confidence when a question looks unfamiliar.
Students who seem to 'get it' in class but things don't go to plan in an exam.
Students who need a little more support to help it all 'click'.
Students who want a friendly, safe place to boost their confidence and ask the questions they don't want to ask at school.
We have groups available for Year 10 and 11 students working towards Foundation or Higher tier GCSE Maths:
Our Year 11 Foundation groups are for students who are aiming for the crucial pass (grade 4) or a step up from a 3 to 4, or 4 to 5.
Our Year 11 Higher groups are for students who are currently working around a grade 5 and want to push towards a grade 6 or 7.
What happens in a session?
Plug the gaps: short video or file will ensure all students start the session with the same relevant foundational knowledge.
Learn: a clear explanation of one topic which builds on the foundational knowledge.
Practise: work through questions together and then more individually. All with feedback.
Plan: learn the best method for trickier questions, so there's a plan of action for the exam.
Consolidate: complete extra questions for 'homework' to ensure the topic is solid, with feedback.
Sessions are 55 minutes, online, on Microsoft Teams.
Why learn with me?
Maths degree from the University of Exeter followed by 18 years of GCSE Maths tutoring
Every student I've taught has improved their grade as well as become more confident in maths and in their own ability
Small groups of 6 or fewer, so every student gets feedback
Friendly and relaxed, I don't aim to put anyone on the spot – we build confidence first and once students realise they know more than they thought, their confidence and achievements skyrocket.

Testimonials
“I recommend Hannah and Mathematical Minds Tuition without a doubt - fabulous giver of confidence and fun. My daughter works hard in class without realising it.”
"My daughter needed some extra support to help her get through her maths exams and to give her more confidence to tackle maths as a subject. Hannah made my daughter feel comfortable from the moment she met her. She felt that Hannah supported her and explained methods in details and went over concepts until she understood them. My daughter and I would highly recommend Hannah; if your child needs help with their maths or that extra support to help with their GCSE maths examinations."
"I was really struggling with my maths at school and not really understanding the subject, but when I started my tutoring sessions with Hannah I immediately gained confidence in the subject. When having the sessions with Hannah it gave me an opportunity to ask any questions that I had about both lessons and exams. After a short period of time everything became so much easier to deal with as she explained things in a way that I understood and I cannot thank her enough."

If you decide it is right for your child and wish to continue, we'll set up monthly payments for the rest of the academic year.

FAQs
What if my child misses a session?
If your child misses a session, they will receive the session recording shortly after the session is complete, along with extra questions for homework, so that they can catch up in their own time. Missed sessions are not refundable.
What do they need?
Students will need a device with a good internet connection, their school pencil case (with everything inside!), a calculator and a notepad or paper to write on.
How do I pay?
The first session is paid for individually by debit or credit card. Once the first session is complete and you are happy to continue, you will receive a payment link to set up your monthly payments. This will be calculated by taking the total amount for all of the remaining scheduled sessions for the academic year and split over the number of months remaining.
Which exam board do you cover?
We cover AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards.
Can I try before I commit?
Yes of course, pay for the first session individually (£25) and then make your decision about the rest.
Is there a 1:1 option?
